How do you do the algebra with letters? I have gotten a problem like this b=213 c=354 3c + 8b

I think u should sustitute it like this:
3(354)+8(213)= 1062+1704= 2766 Dont know if this is correct though

yeah right,you have to substitute those numbers on the letters,then do the specific operation,if like this;x+2,add it,if like this;x-2,subtract,if like this;2x,multiply and if like this;2/x,divide it,hope i helped...

So in the problem, B is 213. So in the problem, you use 213 in place of B. Same with C. C=354. So the problem is: 3 times 354 + 8 times 213. Then multiply and add.

A number before a letter means to multiply the letter's number by that number. The C=354 is basically 3 x 354. Multiply, and substitute the B for 213 and multiply it by 8. Add them, and lo and behold, your answer.
