His name is Jose Rizal. He wrote and let people understand the harshness of invaders. He became a doctor, a teacher, he was in jail writing novels about freedom, justice, and peace throughout the Philippines. We, filipinos honor him even today :)

If were putting out info on our national hero... I might as well add that there was actually a debate on who gets to be the National Hero of the Philippines... :D they were debating on whether it should have been Andres Bonifacio, the one who led the Katipunan or Jose Rizal, the one who inspired the people through his literary works.
